Formerly renown as a humble fishing village, Jimbaran has capitalized on its spectacular coastline location and has transformed into one of Bali’s favourite spots for popular seafood restaurants, pristine beaches and unique shopping destinations.

Great Shopping

Shopping in Jimbaran can be an adventure in itself as the area offers an array of unique and traditional shops and markets. Bring a piece of Bali home with you and make a visit to quality homeware store Jenggala. This shop is well known for its beautifully crafted tableware and often showcases a variety of ceramic and pottery workshops and exhibitions.

If you’re looking for some local and international designer threads, then a visit to Jimbaran Corner will be well worth it. The shopping complex not only houses a variety of clothing stores but includes several lifestyle and dining outlets. A few brands that can be found here are BIN House, Mori Batik, Vinoti Living, Periplus bookshop and Grocer & Grind.

Pristine Beaches

Known for its tranquil and clean turquoise waters is one of Bali’s best beaches, Jimbaran Bay. As the bay is protected by an unbroken coral reef, the waters here are mellower than other parts of Bali. Stretching 4km in length, this remarkable beach is lined with an eclectic assortment of cafes, restaurants, bars and lounging spots.

For those looking for something a little more unique then a visit to Tegal Wangi Beach is a must. This hidden gem of a beach is famous for its sea jacuzzi experience. With jacuzzi sized pools of water lining the shore line, visitors come here to experience natures private jacuzzi with a view of the ocean that is to die for.

Marvelous Seafood on the Beach

Jimbaran is iconic for its delicious and romantic beachfront seafood restaurants. When sunset arrives, the coast of Jimbaran is filled with tantalizing aromas of freshly grilled seafood and the flickering lights of candle lit tables.

From here you can watch planes take off and approach the airport.  Visitors take their pick of the morning’s catch of snapper, clams, crabs, lobster or squid and then dig their toes into the sand while enjoying the awe inspiring sunset and the soothing sound of the ocean waves reaching the shore. After the sun goes down, several restaurants offer live entertainment such as a mariachi band or traditional dance. Two restaurants that offer such an experience are Menega Cafe and Bawang Merah Beach front Restaurant. A dinner at one of these places will leave you dreaming of the day when you can come back for more.

Get There

Jimbaran is only a 15 minute drive south of the Ngurah Rai International Airport and a 20 minute drive from Legian, Seminyak and Sanur via the toll road that links Benoa airport and Sanur. Expect a taxi fee  of approximately IDR 60,000 to IDR 50,000 from the airport to Jimbaran Bay.
